The circle graph above shows the percentages of gases that create the mix of air. Nitrogen takes up the largest part of air whereas oxygen takes up less than a third of that part. A very small part of the mixture is taken by other gases, which include carbon dioxide and water vapor. Oxygen gas is vital to almost all living things.

Why is there more nitrogen than oxygen if oxygen is most vital to all living things?
Bassil, this is a great question. We will look into this next month. Just as a note, a higher percentage of oxygen in air could be lethal.

But if the particles are in constant motion, doesn't that mean there's a chance of us not breathing sometimes?
